AHSF Overview
What We Do...
The Alamo Heights School Foundation (AHSF) was established in 1971 to mobilize community support for current and long-term strategies that enhance and perpetuate district-wide academic opportunity and excellence for our children.
The AHSF provides funding for faculty salaries; technology and training; Innovative Grants for teachers to encourage classroom creativity; curriculum and program enhancements, and Scholarships for college bound AHHS seniors and graduates.

The Foundation raises and distributes funds through these sources:
- FACE For All Children – Excellence (Annual Campaign): Donations are used to provide teaching excellence by paying for additional teacher salaries, supplementing the District’s annual budget. A portion of the funds raised each year through the FACE Campaign go to build the Foundation’s Endowment.
- Endowment: Some of the Foundation’s $3.5 million endowment was as a result of the creation of seven named funds specifically designated for scholarships. While some of the interest income from the Endowment still continues to fund these scholarships, the majority of the interest generated by the Endowment provides teacher salary support for the District through the creation of the Endowed Chair program.
- Special Events: Funds raised through special events, such as the Roundup for Excellence, go to support various programs at each campus that promote innovations in teaching.
- Business Honor Roll: Funds raised through local businesses who wish to support the students and teachers of the Alamo Heights Independent School District.
Recognition programs of the Foundation:
- Major Donors Recognition Events: Two donor events are held each spring to recognize lead contributors to our FACE and endowment campaigns. The Major Donor Reception honors those who contribute $1,000 or more; the Major Donor Dinner honors contributors of at least $5,000.
- The Legacy Society: The Foundation recognizes individuals who include Alamo Heights School Foundation in their wills and planned giving.
