AHSF Grants

Foundation Grant Awards

The Alamo Heights School Foundation Grants program was established in 1998 as Innovative Grants to encourage teachers at all levels to be innovative in their approach to teaching; to help motivate and inspire their students to learn by developing an activity or approach outside the normal curriculum/teaching patterns.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, the Foundation has selected four focus areas for its Grants to AHISD faculty and staff.  These four areas align with the Strategic Plan adopted by AHISD in May 2009:
All Learning will be Engaging, Relevant & Challenging (Strategy #1)
AHSF supports the district’s strategies in planning for learning experiences for all children to help students attain high academic achievement. The focus for this grant area will be on academic excellence attained through additional educational experiences for all children.

Closing the Achievement Gap (Strategy #3)
AHSF recognizes the need for differentiated instruction in the core curriculum to address the different needs of students.

High-Performing Faculty and Staff (Strategy #5)
AHSF centers on the belief that the most important factor in learning is the teacher. Therefore, grant money is awarded to help improve the quality of teaching within AHISD as well as to recognize and encourage staff excellence and innovative teaching practices.

Create a Culture of Participation that Ensures Equitable Access to Academic Activities (Strategy #6)
AHSF will assist in creating a culture that ensures equitable access to academic activities to all students.
This year AHSF will be awarding up to $50,000 in grants.
